The Chrometco Group is the holder of chromite mineral and surface rights on Rooderand. In September 2007, Chrometco announced the disposal of its Rooderand assets for R62 million.

Chrometco intends to acquire 90% of Lime-Chem, as well as 10% of Summer Season and Lime-Chem Minerals. The acquisitions, coupled with the Kiln project, will position the group as a dominant player in the limestone and dolomite industry in Southern Africa.
Subsequent to the decision to dispose of the Rooderand assets, the Chrometco Group is currently involved in the continuing process of identifying and considering various exploration projects as they present themselves to management.
